Remove fan and traffic noise from your recordings without a studio

4 November 2026

You don’t need a studio to sound professional. Most noise in home recordings comes from a few sources, and you can fix almost all of them.

The usual culprits

Before you record

  1. Turn off the fan for the few minutes you record, if you can.
  2. Record in a room with soft things: curtains, a bed, a sofa. They soak up echo.
  3. Keep the mic or phone 15 to 20 cm from your mouth. Closer means more voice and less room.

After you record

Upload your file to Alfaz Studio and choose Clean audio. It uses an AI model trained to separate speech from noise, so it removes the hum and traffic but keeps your voice natural. Leave Even out loudness on; it brings your volume to the level YouTube, Spotify and Instagram expect.

If you upload a video, you get the same video back with clean sound, ready to post.

When noise removal can’t help

If music or another person is talking over you at the same volume, no tool can fully separate them. In that case, re-recording a short section is usually faster than fixing it.

Try it on your own file: open Alfaz Studio. It's free for files up to 60 seconds.
